(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home/indianav/migratetosunnyaustralia.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6131An occupation ceiling is applied to invitations for independent and skilled regional (provisional) visas. In other words, there is a limit on how many applications will be selected for an occupation group.
Once the relevant limit is reached for an occupation no further invitations will be issued for the remaining program year. Remaining invitations will then be allocated to migrants in different occupation groups regardless even if they are lower ranking.
We anticipate that with introduction of the New Skilled Regional Provisional Visa (491) the occupation ceilings will get filled faster as the program gives additional 15 points for State/Territory or family sponsorship in a Regional Area and additional 10 points to single applicants.
Australia is a popular destination for migration purposes however, its immigration policies are becoming tougher as Australian States and Territories are inundated with applications, so much so that some of the States and Territories had opened their program in July 2019 and closed it in a matter of a day or two.
The table below shows the occupation ceilings for 2019-2020 program year.

We recommend intending applicants to keep an eye on the occupation ceiling as it gets updated once the figures are released for invitation rounds that happen once every month.
It is also advised that candidates undertake Skills Assessment as soon as possible, as it forms a crucial part of the application process and it can easily take 3-4 months to complete it given the large volume of applications that Skills Assessing Authorities receive.
We can help you navigating the complexities of the Skilled Migration Program and will be able to prepare and successfully lodge an application on your behalf.
