Entire Australia is now considered Regional with the exception of only three cities Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Interested applicants often forget that there are other major regional cities like Perth, Gold Coast, Darwin, Sunshine Coast, New Castle, Wollongong and many others that are at par with major cities and are included in this program. These major cities and many others offer many job opportunities along with a multicultural and fast-moving lifestyle.
It is anticipated that due to the current popularity and initial success of this program, the immigration will increase the number of places allocated for the 491 Visa program.
We would like to emphasize that the 491 Visa offers more advantages as compared to 482 TSS Work Visa program.
Firstly, the 491 Visa when granted is valid for a period of 5 years and an applicant has complete freedom to change employers should they wish to and they do not require any change of nomination to switch employers because with this program they get sponsored by a particular state and not by an employer.
Secondly, once the visa is granted and a visa holder complies with the conditions imposed on its grant for a period of 3 years then they can directly apply for Permanent Residency without having to go through any further requirements.
Let’s have a look at the some of the states that are currently accepting applications for this visa program.
This Australian Territory is overlooked by many however, it has some of the most generous requirements aimed at enticing migrants to settle here.
NT occupation list (mentioned below) is quite elaborate and provides applicants with access to many occupations though some occupations have special caveats attached to them.
Offshore Applicants
Applicants would have to demonstrate that they have worked at least 12 months within the last 24 months in their nominated occupation or they must hold Australian qualifications.
Applicants will also have to demonstrate that they have strong prospects of employment in NT.
Onshore Applicants
If you are an onshore applicant then, you must have been working in your nominated occupation within the last 12 months in NT.
International Graduates
Graduates who have completed at least two years of full-time study at a recognised college or University in NT will be eligible to put forward their nomination.
