Australian Regional Visas Now Available For Perth and Gold Coast

October 27, 2019

Australian Government is stepping up its efforts to attract more migrants to Regional Australia and it has announced that Perth and Gold Coast will now be considered as Regional Cities starting 16th November 2019. As such, Regional Visas will now also be available for Perth and Gold Coast.

This also means that all of Australia will now be considered Regional except for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The number of visas allocated for regional migration will also be increased from 23,000 to 25,000.

This is a backflip on the earlier plans of the Australian Government which were primarily changed due to growth in regional migration as nearly 6000 regional visas were granted since the start of July 2019.

It is indeed good news for potential migrants looking to get permanent residency in Australia by moving to Regional Australia.

The Government has also announced that priority processing will be given to regional visa applications and it will also deploy Regional outreach officers to promote skilled migration initiatives and support regional employers.

Let’s have a brief look at the requirements and benefits of the New Regional Visas which start from 16th November 2019:

  • Should have competent level of English
  • Primary applicant should be below 45 years of age at the time of lodging the application
