Partner Visas

If you are engaged or in a de-facto relationship or married to an Australian Permanent Resident, Citizen or eligible New Zealand Citizen then, you may be eligible to apply for a Partner Visa. Extensive evidence of relationship is generally a requirement for the purpose of such visa applications.

Depending on your individual circumstances you may be eligible for any of the following types of visa applications:

  • Subclass 300– If you are off-shore and are engaged to be married to an Australian Permanent Resident, Citizen or eligible New Zealand Citizen then, you might be eligible to apply for this visa. Upon its grant, a visa holder can enter Australia and must marry their Australian partner within a nine month period and can then lodge a separate application for onshore partner visa Subclass 820/801.
  • Subclass 309/100– If you are off-shore and are married or in a de-facto relationship with an Australian Permanent Resident, Citizen or eligible New Zealand Citizen then, you might be eligible to apply for this visa. An applicant is initially granted a Subclass 309 visa and after two years from the date of lodgement of this visa application, the applicant is given an opportunity to apply for the permanent visa Subclass 100.
  • Subclass 820/801– If you are on-shore and are married or in a de-facto relationship with an Australian Permanent Resident, Citizen or eligible New Zealand Citizen then, you might be eligible to apply for this visa.
